Telkom Kenya has announced the repositioning on their Orange Internet wireless access service, which is now the lowest cost pay per use internet product in the market with nationwide coverage. With equipment cost of only KES3,500 for the plug-and-play modem and browsing charges for as low as KES1 per minute during off peak hours (7pm-7am), universally affordable internet access for Kenyans in rural and urban areas is now a reality.
This revamped internet service is set to revolutionise internet communication by enabling easier, faster and affordable access countrywide on Orange Fixed Plus (formerly Telkom Wireless) prepaid connection.
According to the Telkom Kenya Head of Marketing and Strategy, Jean-Michel Chanut, “Widely accessible, affordable and good quality internet connectivity across will allow all Kenyans, and especially those in more remote parts of the country to connect to the rest of the world achieving their personal and business goals. No other internet service provider either mobile or internet service provider offers such a wide footprint for internet connectivity. It represents a 40% reduction in costs and expansion nationwide of our data services. Orange Internet wireless access is now the most cost effective data service in the industry.”
Subscribers will be able to enjoy fast access to the internet by simply walking into any Orange Customer Experience Centre or Orange dealer shop across the country and purchasing the start-up pack.
The revamped internet service is a pay-as-you-go service that comes with a modem, a data-enabled RUIM card (Removable User Identity Module), KES50 bonus airtime on activation and a step-by-step set-up guide. Subscribers will be able to top-up upon purchase of Telkom Prepaid and VoIP top up cards. 24 hour customer service support is available to Orange Internet wireless access subscribers by dialling 100 from any Orange or Telkom Fixed line, or 020 2221000 from other networks.
Orange Internet wireless access offers increased flexibility to both individual and business needs in small or large towns across Kenya, further entrenching Orange as the one stop shop for all mobile, fixed, and internet services at the most attractive rates.
